Biography
2024 sees Jamie entering into his twenty ninth year in the business and his varied career has taken him all over the world.
Jamie started his career in 1996 as Resident Entertainer on a holiday park in his hometown of Burnham on Sea and it was clear from the start that this was the career path for him.
Over the next six years he performed in holiday parks and in entertainment centres around the country. He was soon promoted to Assistant Entertainments Manager and ultimately Senior Entertainments Manager. The winter months saw Jamie performing on P & O Cruise Ships and working in venues all over Europe.
In the winter of 2001 Jamie successfully auditioned for the role of Prince Eric in a production of 'Sleeping Beauty' for M & M Theatrical Productions. He toured theatres and schools UK wide. His talent and hard work was recognised and duly rewarded at M & M’s Annual Awards Ceremony where he picked up awards for ‘Best Principle Boy’ and ‘Best Male Vocal Performance’.
Jamie continued to tour for the next two years and subsequently was promoted to Tour Manager where he performed in a selection of Classical Literature Productions with starring roles in ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' as well as 'Alice in Wonderland' and 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame’.
2003 was a pivotal year for Jamie as he decided it was time to put together an act of his own. '3Dimension' was a high-energy vocal/dance trio who toured throughout the West Country and received great audience reactions. '3Dimension' appeared on the bill with Will Young and acts of similar standing.
In 2004 Jamie received a phone call that would change his life. He was offered, and accepted a job as Assistant Production Manager for M & M Theatrical Productions. Before his new job started Jamie starred in one final tour as Male Lead in ‘Beauty and the Beast’. That year he swept the board at the companies Awards Ceremony winning awards for ‘Most Versatile Actor’, ‘Tour Manager Sales’ and ‘Actor of the year’. This was a fitting finale for him before he embraced the new diverse position within the company.
Jamie’s new role entailed: Technical Management, assessing Performance Standards in Educational Institutes and creating Theatrical Sets.
As well as the growing responsibilities of management Jamie was also “On call Understudy” and supported the Production Executive to supervise around a hundred actors and production staff.
2005 saw Jamie promoted to Production Manager where his responsibilities stretched to Monitoring Performance Levels, Staff Training, Recruitment, Technical Management and Event’s Coordinator.
This senior role afforded Jamie the opportunity to write, produce and direct. He displayed an inherent talent for this producing a fantastic array of shows and productions. He excelled in all facets of his career and was directly responsible for increased staff performance and staff retention, which gave him a huge degree of personal pride.
His hard work was rewarded with an industry ‘Special Achievement Award’ for his effort and energy in the world of Theatre and Performing Arts.
